E-Cruiser
The E-Cruiser electric scooter has come of age. The importance
of a healthy environment has preoccupied the populace worldwide.
In fact a lot of concerted effort has been done lately to
address the problem of ecological balance, preservation of
flora and fauna and of course the accumulation of greenhouse
gases.
With man's concern for the environment now evident, our
generation may yet see mother earth regenerate to the 70's
level. Man has developed ways to reduce one's carbon footprint.
Our power sector has showed signs of a shift from disastrous
fossil fuels to one that is environment friendly. But the
biggest contributor to this effort is the transportation sector,
particularly industrial complexes that produce electric vehicles.
One company that is involved in this endeavor is Green E Motors,
which developed the E-Cruiser precisely to address the problem
of carbon dioxide pollution. This move is in the right direction
since an electric vehicle is totally emission free and also
silent; thereby reducing in effect sound pollution.
What is an E-Cruiser?
The E-Cruiser is a two-wheeled vehicle designed more as a
scooter. One hundred-percent electric powered, the E-Cruiser
is approved by the DOT, and can be used even on the roadway
and cruises at speeds up to 30mph. The E-Cruiser electric
scooter is recommended for use in urban centers, or as mode
of transport in school campuses, to run errands to and from
supermarkets or just simply cruise along and enjoy the scenic
spots. It is your all around thoroughly efficient electric
scooter.
The powertrain of the E-Cruiser is a 1600-watt sealed brushless
induction motor that is mounted over the rear wheel and capable
of covering 50miles on a single charge. Battery recharging
takes about 4 hours (80-percent) and 6 hours for a full charge.
The E-Cruiser unit comes with a standard battery pack of either
a Silicon Lead-Acid battery or the Lithium-ion battery. The
latter being preferred for it is lightweight and has a longer
battery life.
DOT Likes!
Rider comfort is assured on the E-Cruiser with the presence
of oil-filled shock absorbers on both front and rear wheels.
The vehicle can carry a total passenger load of up to 350lbs
and has a 2-speed gear system that provides extra power when
scaling steep roads of up to 20-percent incline. A generous
storage space is also provided behind the seat on the E-Cruiser.
Standard features of the electric scooter include the headlights,
taillights, brake lights, turn signals and a horn all approved
by the DOT.
Additional safety features of the E-Cruiser include the disc
brake at the front wheel and brake drum at the rear. The only
drawback to the cruiser is its weight, relatively heavy at
220lbs, although its performance capability more than make-up
for this shortcoming.
What about maintenance and warranty?
Maintenance is very minimal since it runs on an induction
motor, so only one moving part needs attention and that is
the armature. Besides that the motor is sealed and designed
to outlive the frame of the E-Cruiser. Only the burnt light
bulbs need to be replaced, the worn-out brake pads needs to
undergo periodic check-ups and also special attention must
be given to the tubeless tires for it is prone to damage especially
the treads after sustained use.
One year unlimited mileage warranty comes standard with new
units and it covers both parts and labor for almost everything,
but excluded to the warranty are light bulbs and brake pads.
The battery pack of the E-Cruiser is likewise covered with
a 5000-mile or 6-month warranty.
